Hi angels! Happy international women’s day!!!
As you can tell from today’s title, this post is to celebrate all women. In all of my posts, I try to celebrate everyone and how wonderful we all are & how lucky we are to be on this Earth, living and being ourselves.
Throughout centuries, women have faced being degraded, seen as less value, not listened to, hadn’t got the privilege to have a say and so much more.
I’m proud to be a woman. I’m proud to be able to have the change to have a say, to speak my mind, to share my opinions. However, all over the world, women still don’t get to share their stories, their lives, be able to speak out or be safe.
Women get hurt everyday. All over the globe. We fight for what we want. We have fought for our rights for years. Yet, only a small part of the world get to have their voices heard, loud and clear.
As a woman who has been born in this society, I want to be able to use my platform positively, however small it is, to be able to speak out for those who can’t. I want to share their stories and have their stories told.
I’m a girl who wants to give awareness to lots of issues from our societies. As people, especially women, we get told from a very young age that we get ‘threatened’ by other girls and that we should push to be better than everyone else. But THIS. IS. WRONG.
We should empower one another. I’ve grown to think people hate me when they see me and I’ve grown to automatically have an opinion that people think bad of me before they get to know me. Part of this could be true, but the other half is my mindset. Not every girl will dislike you!!
Being disliked is part of life, not everyone will like you. But as women, what will make your lives easier is to not judge others or feel like you should have the need to be threatened by other women.
I’m incredibly proud to say the people I’ve finally surrounded myself with are pure, genuine, kind, beautiful souls. The women around me are amazing and I want to explain some great women who inspire me every single day to be a better version of myself.
My sister is my rock. As sisters, you argue, have tantrums, ignore each other and many more silly stuff which is just part of being a sister. But other aspects are the bond you grow to have, your relationship, your trust, your love and your amazing funny moments that you have.
My sister, meg, is just hilarious. She’s always put me first and I’ll never thank her enough for her support and love for me. She is my friend, sister and family member who I whole heartedly care for. She makes me laugh until my stomach hurts. She listens to all of my problems and issues, but never judges me. She gives advice like no one else can give me. She’s the friend that inspires me to learn as I go along. Learn on my journey, and if things go wrong, they won’t last forever. She inspires me to be strong.
My mum is the best mum in the world. I know everyone says that about their parents but goshhh, my mum is the best. She is the one who inspires me to try my best and to always love myself. My mum is an incredibly strong woman. She has a heart of gold. Whenever I’m upset, she drops whatever she is doing and stalks to me about it. She believes in me. She inspires me to be confident, to be myself and to just be me. She is beautiful inside and out.
My closest friends:
(I attract Megan’s what can I say) – meg has been my friend for a few years now and she is the friend that I can tell absolutely anything to and I know she won’t judge. She is so kind, caring and thoughtful. She inspires me to clean my room more hahah. But most importantly, she is my friend who I will never part from. She is the life of a party, the loudest gal in the room and the most loving angel ever. She inspires me to listen to my heart.
my friend Ella is a friend that I can count on. She inspires me to be creative on all levels. She is the friend that relates to me the most. She inspires me to want to better myself by not caring about what others think. She is so inspiring because her heart is so big. Ella inspires me to show how creative I am through fashion, beauty and friendship. We have matching fashion tastes and she’s the friend that I can talk to about all things fashion and much more. The kindest soul. Angelic, huge heart and my true twin.
My dad –
I know this post is about women who inspire me. But I just want to include my dad because he is my biggest fan. My dad inspires me soooo much. He inspires me to be me, to work as hard as I can and to never give up. My dad is such a hard working man and always has been. He’s provided so much for my little family and I will never be able to thank him enough for what he’s done for us. My dad inspires me to reach for my dreams and make them come true. My dad is my hero!
Jonny, my boyfriend:
Jonny inspires me to take things and put them into motion. To not just sit around and wait for things to happen. Jonny is the one who is truest with me. He’s the most honest, loving and charming guy in my life. Being together for 4 years, you can say that we know the ins and outs of one another, and I’m so glad to have shared this experience with him. Jonny inspires me to think outside the box and to not care what others think. He’s the one who’s there for me, always.
All women out there – wherever you are, whoever you are and whatever you do, you ALL inspire me. I love everything about women and how we are so powerful and strong minded. We are great, amazing, smart, strong, kind, caring, funny and most importantly, loving. We love too hard, we care too much, we do all of these things yet we think so little about ourselves.
It’s time for that to change.
We are important, we are loved, we are brave.
You ALL inspire me to be a better version of myself and to make the most of this life of mine. Believe in yourselves ladies, we can do this. Reach for your dreams and never give up!
International women’s day is about celebrating women and how far we have come and what we CAN do. Men included. Men are amazing and strong and can do whatever they like as well. Reach for goals, inspire others and love hard.
Love, Sophie Eleanor x
